We need to save this poor dog. Loyal and loving for 9 years, only to be dumped in a kill shelter. What a disgrace. Please everyone, we have to save this poor soul.

Wuillito was surrendered by his owners after 9 years. He lived with a sister (actually looks like it was his girlfriend) too!

A Volunteer Writes: Wuillito is a 9 yo un-neutered male at the shelter since 4/23/2011. He weights 70lbs. Wuillito was relinquished by his long time owner as his family is moving to a house not allowing pets. His former master unfortunately and sadly did not leave any information about Wuillito with us. One would thing that a dog who was part of a family for such a long time would not be disposed of so unceremoniously...Wuillito seems to have been well cared for. He appears healthy, his coat is clean and in good shape and his has a healthy weight. Wuillito is up and about. He walks very well, marks his territory (he is not neutered) and is very much housetrained. He is very civil to all dogs, male and female met on our walk and up close in the backyard. Wuillito can sit on command and loves to be petted. He is stressed although appears calm and at times emits little crying sounds. It must be so distressing for an elderly pet to find himself in an unfamiliar situation and without his owner. His brain can not just process the ordeal... Wuillito is...only a dog. Wuillito is in good shape. He has still a good few years to give love and loyalty to an master. Wuillito is at the Manhattan shelter, waiting for his new family.

Look 2 :Dog pulls out of the assessors cupped hands each time without settling during the three repetitions
Sensitivity 1 :Dog leans in to the assessor with soft body ,low tail wagging and ears relaxed
Tag 2:Dog is not fearful,but is unresponsive to the assessor ,approaches the assessor with soft relaxed body when coaxed after play
Squeeze 1 :Dog gently pulls back his paw
Squeeze 2 1 :Dog gently pulls back his paw
Food 1 :Dog calmly allows food to be moved,follows the dish ,but does not interfere with the movement of the dish
Toy 1 :No interest
Rawhide 2 :Dog takes the rawhide away,keeps a firm grip ,but remains soft in body
Dog to dog 2 :Approaches the helper dog with head high ,body not stiff and ears relaxed
