Importance: High

A VOLUNTEER WROTE:

Jack is a 1.5 year old pittie mix who came into the shelter as a stray on 1/11/11. Jack is a largish boy with a beautiful brindle coat. Jack is quite playful and LOVED romping around outside in the snow. Jack's most distinguishing feature to this volunteer was his excellent manners! Jack is great on the leash and knows his commands very well - sit, come, paw, and even stay! Jack is friendly with other dogs met at the shelter and all in all a pretty easy-going fellow. Though Jack may look like an "ordinary" dog to most, with an ordinary name, there is a really sweet and special soul inside him, I'm hoping someone will see it and give him the forever home he so deserves today.
Brooklyn Center

My name is JACK. My Animal ID # is A886474.
I am a male br brindle and white pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year 6 months old.

NY/NJ Disabled Vet's 2 Dogs Need Home Together. Very Bonded to Each other

NYC ACC:  ....Surrendered by a disabled veteran who was no longer able to care for these two"
Where is the Safety Net Program that is supposed to help people and pets in these kinds of circumstances??? The animals and their guardian have lost everything!  This bonded pair must go together!!!

Why are these beauties still here? The oddest, yet cutest couple! please, please let's get them out!!! "  What a sight, to see these two in a cage together… so cute!
PUMPKIN – A886325 – 3 yr old male pittie mix – 35lbs – OS, 1/9 – Can’t care for anymore – NO CONCERN!
KING – A886324 – 8 yr old male Min Pin – 10lbs – OS, 1/9

A Volunteer Wrote: Disney, do we have a story for you, playing out in our very own shelter: The adorable Pumpkin, a 3 year old petite 35 pound male, came in with King, #A886324, an extremely petite mini pincher. King is like an exclamation point of black to Pumpkin's beautiful white and brown self.
Surrendered by a disabled veteran who was no longer able to care for these two, they are now sharing a kennel at the shelter with utmost happiness. They are so bonded that when I went to take Pumpkin for a walk, he greeted all the other dogs with kisses through the kennel and then, after looking back to see that King wasn't with him, refused to go out the door. So off we went to get King, as well, and off we trotted so happily, all of us smiling to be together.
Pumpkin adores playing with King, who is a little more independent but is obviously most comfortable with his companion, as well. Pumpkin also loves climbing into his walker's lap and showering the walker with kisses of gratitude. He's just an amazing boy. It's amazing to me that someone has the opportunity to adopt not only one extraordinary dog (Pumpkin really makes us giddy with delight) but his companion, who is so tiny it wouldn't be difficult to make room for him, as well.
We're devoted to this pair, and we find the devotion that they share with each other absolutely inspiring. Please, won't you give them both a home?

You can go to www.nycacc.org.  The phone that I have for NYCACC in Manhattan is 212-722-4939.
I think you have to keep pressing 0.  I understand that they are hard to reach and don't call back.
Maybe best to get in touch with a NYC registered rescuer IF someone is required to pull the animal/s:
One would need to be screened and interviewed by the rescuer before the animal would be released.
Ideally private adoptions are probably the best.  Actually going to the shelter often works best, unless
pull by a registered rescuer is required for certain specific animals.

Very Affectionate Playful Kitty who LOVES other cats Phillipsburg, NJ

PLEASE CROSS POST AS THIS POOR GIRL WAS DUMPED AND LEFT FOR DEAD! SHE IS IN URGENT NEED OF A FOREVER LOVING HOME!!

Muffins is a 1.5 year old Female Kitty who was left behind when her family moved. She was left in the freezing cold weather and snow to fend for herself.  When she was taking in, she was so cold she had to be warmed up with a heating blanket and lots of rubs.  Muffins is the sweetest little girl who loves affection and attention and would love a forever home to call her own.  She ADORES other kitties and would love a home where she could have another kitty companion to play with and keep her company.

Muffins is up to date on all her vaccinations, tested neg for FeLV and FIV and is spayed. Can you find it in your heart to give this gentle soul a forever home???

Blind Dog Champ Needs Out of Shelter ASAP NJ

JoyceMarieT@gmail.com

A friend of mine is a volunteer at the local animal shelter. Unfortunately this holiday season many people have surrendered their family pets and the shelter is now overcrowded - and we all know what happens when the shelter is overcrowded :(   There is one dog she is very close to, Champ's information is attached. He is a wonderful dog and a great companion but due to his disability (he's blind) his time may be very limited. Adopting an older pet can be very rewarding - they may be older but still have a lot of love to share. She would take him but she lives in an apartment that doesn't allow dogs. If you know of anyone who would like to adopt Champ - or any of the other animals - please pass this on. I know some of you don't live local, but you know or may know people who do. Please feel free to pass this along!
Contact JoyceMarieT@gmail.com, not sender. Thank you

NJ/NYC EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED TO SAVE COONHOUND

PLEASE CONTACT:
mamaluvcats@aol.com

PLEASE CROSS POST

--
Flash- A wonderful dog rescued from a high kill shelter back in the summer is now losing what was supposed to be his forever home! a PUREBRED COON HOUND
Flash is a sweet young boy around 18 months - He gets along with other dogs and loves his people a bit apprehensive around small children so that would be a NO.

The problem in his new home is No time to teach him all he needs to know about food manners! Flash is not a strong willed or even aggressive dog he just needs proper consistant training and ack placement

Rather then work with a trainer OR spend time with him. His new family is going to dump him where ever!
so as always In Our Hands rescue stands behind our dogs and we are begging for a foster home to open up to this gentle giant!

he needs a place to go by FRIDAY! we can deliver!

if he does not have a foster commitment the shelter is where they will dump him and sadly poor flash would be right back where he started 6months ago.
Please step up and save Flash once again
He is fully vetted and in good health House broken-not destructive at all

EMAIL ME FOR PHOTO OR TO GIVE YOUR MUCH NEEDED COMMITMENT OF A FOSTER HOME.
If you can be his life saver please fill out an app here www.inourhandsrescue.org

or email me asap if you already have!

**Luigi is a 9 year old chi/itlian gray hound mix that also needs a foster or better yet adopter been in rescue far too long and has over stayed his welcome
great with everyone he meets fully vetted with no health or behavior concerns housebroken and a true pal!
